A History of Forest Chi
Both Angus and Kate have spent much of their lives teaching and sharing their love of nature and movement. They met in 2009 and soon realised that they had the same aspirations: to take Tai Chi outdoors into nature and through this, to inspire and create a healing and transformative space for people. Their skills and experience compliment each other. Angus brings a wealth of expertise through his long history of movement for health exploration and his intimate knowledge of Dartmoor; and Kate's commitment to body learning and years of working with people in nature, combined with her passion for Tai Chi.
After a number of years of experimenting and sharing ideas and inspiration, Forest chi was born. Since then we have collaborated with various projects and organisations including Dartmoor National Park, and spent three years as joint coordinators, running Forest Chi workshops, public events, and adventures on Dartmoor and beyond.
After deciding to dedicate more time to Living Movement, Angus has now stepped back from his role as coordinator, and remains involved as facilitator for some Forest Chi projects. Kate is now the manager and coordinator and will take Forest Chi into the future as it continues to evolve and grow.

I have many years experience in studying, learning and teaching tai chi and qigong. Ever since starting to study tai chi in 1981 I have been inspired by the simplicity, practicality and beauty of its principles and recognise the tremendous potential in applying these to life. My appreciation and love of nature comes from having been born, brought up and lived much of my life on Dartmoor.
