active in later life

Tai Chi has been proven to improve balance and reduce falls in the over 50's
and has many other health benefits including improving strength and mobility and aiding relaxation

Picture
A sociable space for all abilities
Classes can be tailored to suit all abilities and can take place indoors or outdoors, seated or standing, providing a relaxed and sociable space. You will learn exercises and ways of focusing the mind which help you to relax and offer ways of coping with stress in daily life.

You don't have to get sweaty!
Tai Chi has been proven to have the same health benefits, such as increasing blood flow to the heart, as more strenuous forms of exercise so it provides an alternative for those who are not able, or do not enjoy jumping around and getting out of breath.

Sessions for supported housing/retirement villages and similar communities in Devon
If you would like to have Tai Chi in your community I can visit you to run classes, small group sessions and one to one coaching.  To make a booking or discuss options contact Kate either by email: kate@forestchi.co.uk  or telephone 01837 840959

Connecting Actively to Nature
When the weather allows, sessions can take place outdoors in natural surroundings. The added ingredient of nature has been shown to offer huge benefits to well being. The organisation Active Devon has identified the need to encourage people in later life to become more active in the outdoors and is sponsoring a series of twelve Tai Chi classes for over 55's at Fatherford Community Garden in Okehampton as part of their Connecting Actively to Nature (CAN) project. See below for details.
