forest chi classes

Would you like to make forest chi a part of your life? A regular class offers a chance to deepen
your practice, feel more connected with nature, get to know other like minded people
and be part of a safe space to which you can regularly return

What does a regular class involve?
Classes will involve some easy to learn qigong exercises which help to ease stress in the body and mind, improve balance and flexibility and steadily build vitality. Over a number of sessions we will learn the Forest Chi form, a series of seven Tai Chi moves which flow together, and how each move connects us to nature in its own unique way.

There will be nature awareness exercises and time to be still in nature and listen to its rhythms. We will practice the "Tai Chi mindfulness" of focusing on our movements and on what is happening in nature in each moment.

There will be the option to work with a partner to explore our
connections with others and within ourselves

As the weeks progress, we may wish to set aside time to create. When creative energies flow we may be moved to make art in nature, to use our voices or to move with the wind, the birds and the trees. What we choose to create can be inspired by the quality of each moment.

Indoors and outdoors

The sessions will take place outdoors in nature when possible.
During the winter months we can practice the moves and learn
the essence and principles of Tai Chi indoors, combined with
moments outdoors when the weather allows.
